The temperature regulated studio allows for optimal and safe warm-up and dance classes.
The Studio floor
The studio has a well-sprung Beech wood floor. This helps to create a safe dancing environment for our students. Our floor is especially suitable for the training of pointe work.
Music for the dance class
Music is a powerful source of inspiration. We have an extensive music library. The musical accompaniment for a class is of paramount importance. Dancers study both classical and contemporary music and are trained to study and listen carefully to music. Music assists the dancer, giving them a sense of rhythm.
The Studio cultivates an appreciation for the art of dance by providing opportunities to experience, see and read about it. Students are welcome to make use of the private dance library to learn and study the origins of ballet and various other dance forms. In the library you will find volumes dating from 1921 to date.
Part of learning about dance is viewing it. The Studio has an extensive audio-visual collection, available to our registered students.
The Studio has a full set of various costumé for classical and romantic ballets. Registered students of the studio can borrow dance attire at no additional cost for exams and workshops.
